We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a little trip to Newport, Rhode Island.
We stayed at a nice B & B (our first time) and this is what they serve up at afternoon tea.

We thought it would be fun to tour a
winery and taste some wine, and it was!

We toured the Breakers mansion, Cornelius
Vanderbilt's summer estate. Seventy rooms, 20 bathrooms, 40 servants to run it.
Marble, alabaster and gilded woods throughout, on doorways, around windows, up
and down every wall and across
the ceiling. Tapestries, tile, leather, all in exquisite design and beautifully
detailed in every way. This view overlooks the ocean.

Talk about oceanfront!

This view is what you see when you come
in from Bellevue Ave to take the tour.
The trees are quite remarkable
too!
Remember John Jacob Astor? He went
down with the Titanic. This was his summer place.
